Guess which lyrical twins are back in studio mode working on their next album? Not the Cocteau Twins but it’s a good guess considering that guitarist Robin Gurthie produced their debut album White Music for Black People. Still don’t know? How about brothas Daniel and Danny Chavis of Apollo Heights who are currently working on their sophomore release Shocking fuzz of your Electric Fur. It was my pleasure to spend an evening with these wild rockers running around Williamsburg shining bright lights in their faces while catching up, catching drinks and getting right down to business.

A sneak peek into one of their new singles suggest that Shocking Fuzz might be an expression of melancholy but the kind that makes you satisfied wallowing in your own self-pity. Interested in checking it out? They have two big shows coming up at the Highline Ballroom and on May 2^nd Irving Plaza with Echo and the Bunnymen. No info yet on an expected release date but Apollo are definitely back and black.
